About the Concept
Bad Mule Energy started as a bold, personality-driven concept built around a fun mascot and high-energy visual style. The goal was to create something that felt loud, playful, and instantly recognizable. Leaning into humor and attitude while still feeling polished enough to live across packaging, merch, and marketing.
Brief
The direction was to create an energy drink brand that didn’t feel like every other extreme sports or aggressive fitness brand. Instead, we wanted something more character-driven that could connect with people visually right away. The identity needed strong mascot recognition, bold colors, and a flexible system that could work across cans, digital ads, and brand assets.
Solution
I built the brand around a cartoon mule mascot paired with bold typography and vibrant color choices to give it personality and energy without losing clarity. The design system allows for multiple variations — from simplified logo marks to full character illustrations — making it easy to apply across packaging, marketing campaigns, and future product expansions while keeping everything cohesive.
